Our support association - active since 1996
The members of the non-profit organisation, which was founded in 1996, work on a voluntary basis for the nature reserve. The aims of the association include ecological surveys (recording plant and animal species, determining the number of individuals), the organisation and implementation of maintenance measures, guided nature tours and other public relations work.
The work of the association is supported by the Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the district of Vorpommern Rügen (VR). The StAUN Stralsund remains the point of contact for FFH areas. Interested parties who would like to support the association with their knowledge of nature, their labour or financially, or who simply want to experience and enjoy nature, are always welcome.
This also applies to schools that would like to organise excursions or project days to supplement their subject lessons. Students who would like to write a thesis or dissertation on the nature reserve are also welcome at any time. Interested parties can contact the organisation in writing at the address given (see contacts).

Activities of the organisation
The following activities are regularly organised by the association together with members and those interested in nature (conservation):
- Maintenance work to preserve nature in general
- Maintenance work in the Kesselmoor (birch bog) in particular
- Maintenance work for the purpose of local recreation (e.g. benches, visitor information) and maintenance of signposting
- Natural history documentation and historical research
- Guided nature tours
- Continuous waste collection
- Accompaniment of project days, graduation project, etc.
- Representation of interests for nature conservation
